Talk on the Airband with Confidence
An Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) is the CASA qualification that lets you transmit on VHF aeronautical frequencies from the ground. If your drone work takes you near aerodromes, helicopter landing sites or busy airspace, the AROC means you can hear what is happening around you and make the right calls. Our one-day course is taught face-to-face at our West Perth venue by working pilots and drone operators, and you sit your assessment on the day.
Choose Your AROC Option

Basic AROC – $350: for students who already have a General (GELP) or Aviation (AELP) English Language Proficiency assessment on record with CASA. Includes the classroom day, practical radio exercises and your assessment.

AROC + GELP – $400: everything in Basic AROC, plus your General English Language Proficiency assessment on the day.

AROC + AELP – $495: everything in Basic AROC, plus an Aviation English Language Proficiency assessment completed here in Perth, with no need to travel interstate.

Who Needs an AROC?
Remote pilots who operate near aerodromes, helicopter landing sites or in airspace where radio calls are expected, mine site and industrial drone crews, airside and ground operations staff, helicopter landing officers and emergency services personnel. Many employers and site operators now require an AROC before you fly on their sites.
