Not every drone pilot requires an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).

• Infrastructure inspections away from controlled aerodromes

​

You may never need to communicate using aviation radio equipment.

​

For many commercial operators, particularly those working on mine sites or in remote regions, an AROC is simply not required for their day-to-day operations.

By offering the RePL separately, students can reduce their initial training costs and only obtain an AROC if their future operations require it.
